Over the 15th and 16th of August we held our annual Roxy days; we had a fantastic turnout over the 2 days for surfing, yoga and spa treatments. Our wonderful instructors Billie and Betsy saw huge improvements in everyones pop-up techniques over the 2 days, with many venturing out the back and taking the drops on their first green waves. Everyone went away at the end of the weekend feeling surfed out, withsome new friends and plenty of Roxy goodies!
We also recently helped out with Roxy's #RUNSUPYOGA event, it was another great day with a huge turnout. There was great commitment as the ladies battled through the high tide fistral shorebreak on their SUP's before racing up and down the beach. This was followed by an intense run to the South end of the beach, before turning around and racing abck to the North end. The day finished with a relaxing yoga session on the beach.
Over the summer we've had lots of people surfing with us everyday for a week or more, which is the best way to really improve, get to know your instructor and maximise your time in the water! Charlie surfed with us every day for 2 weeks whilst he was in Newquay on holiday with his family, by the end ofhis stay his improvement on the waves was so good, Flynn was giving him more in depth tuition including how to turn, catch unbroken waves and more technique refinement.
The summer is drawing to a close as we are well into September and the kids are back at school. However we are still running lessons everyday and plenty of coasteers for those who are still keen! The Quiksilver Surf School Newquay will be open throughout the winter for those brave enough to face the cold water!
