Stand up paddleboarding is one of the fastest growing outdoor sports in the UK. Our 2 hour SUP taster sessions are perfect if you have very little or no experience of the sport. Your first lesson will take place either on Fistral Beach, Fistral Headland or The River Gannel depending on sea and tide conditions. You will be introduced to your equipment and the environment and how conditions will affect your paddle session. Basic paddle techniques and board control will be taught alongside beach and sea safety. All equipment is provided including full wetsuit, SUP, paddle, buoyancy aid and helmet, you only need to bring swimwear and a towel.

your first lesson includes:

  • Safety points about the beach, the waves and your kit
  • How to warm up properly
  • Equipment features
  • How to launch and land an SUP
  • Paddling and correct technique
  • Balance contol and steering
  • Plenty of friendly feedback to help you improve!

those taking part should:

  • Be able to swim in a bouyancy aid
  • Be 13 years old or above, unless accompanied by an adult on their activities
  • Notify us of any medical conditions that may affect your safety, or the safety of other water users

what to bring:

  • A towel
  • Swimwear for underneath your wetsuit
  • £1 coin for the lockers
